How to Use the BOLT - A Simple Demonstration

BOLT is designed to all UL safety standards required for certification. It features an automatic shut-off in the base if no liquid or mug is present to make the BOLT safe to use at all times and to conserve battery life.

To regulate any liquid at a warm temperature you either have to A) add heat (energy) to the liquid or B) keep its existing heat from dissipating. BOLT does both. The BOLT MugTop is engineered with the most effective insulation system that features a double walled static air gap design and a food grade stainless steel inner liner that conducts and radiates heat back into the liquid. By prioritizing insulation within the MugTop, our engineering team was freed to create an intelligent base housing liquid level sensors, thermostatic controls and a light, yet powerful lithium ion battery. This combination provides more than enough heat to keep your drink warm for 4+ hours. Longer than any other heated mug on the market!

Using a bayonet mount, the BOLT Base and MugTop can be attached/detached with one easy click. Attach a fresh MugTop to an the existing base with plenty of remaining charge or swap in a new base with a full battery for that neverending office meeting.  No clutter and no stationary charger required. 

The easily detachable MugTop is completely inert, sealed, and 100% waterproof. No handwashing needed. Just click, toss and go. Let the dishwasher do the rest. 

Any BOLT MugTop can be swapped out with a clean one while the dishwasher cycle is running. All MugTops are compatible wth the BOLT Base, regardless of colour. Colours are rendered approximations and may appear different on your display device. Refer to colour options and Pantone codes below for an accurate representation.

The slim and lightweight design of the base blends seamlessly into the MugTop creating a sleek look and is easy to take anywhere. All mounting components are on the internal edge of the MugTop and Base, allowing you to store and use the MugTop as you would any other mug.

Designed to fit under any standard counter coffee maker or espresso machine, the BOLT’s non-slip base prevents slips and spills. On the go? All BOLT MugTops come with a silicon gasketed Travel Lid to keep the cold out and your drink in.

In our commitment to environmental sustainability we chose to spend a ton of time and engineering to make the BOLT smart enough to charge with ANY USB type c chargers. 75% of the world uses Android phones, so odds are you ALREADY have a charger that works with the BOLT. If you use Apple laptops, then you ALSO probably have a charger that works. So please check. 

This is us: Roy Reid, Phil Moniz, and Kevin Claydon. We are successful Canadian entrepreneurs who created Canada’s largest and the world’s only online app platform that pays meme creators for their content (Thunder - in all app stores). With a following of over 2,000,000 fans across all Thunder Dungeon media platforms, we turned our focus to product design and were driven to find a more effective and affordable solution for everyday coffee and tea drinkers. Thus began the BOLT.

The most important thing we have learned in our careers owning and operating a company is how much time we waste in the office either waiting for scalding hot tea to cool in order to drink it in the perfect 7-minute window, or constantly microwaving our cold forgotten cups of coffee. Seriously, that’s been our most important takeaway. Considering our microwave would short out the main office router for our online media company, we decided we really had to come up with a solution. The second most important thing we’ve learned is how to mobilize smart people to get things done. After 3 years of engineering, design, tooling, and testing we are excited to share the BOLT with you!
